M/V Gypsies in the Palace is a 2002 49' DeFever Raised Pilothouse (RPH). This 49' RPH was built in China at the CTF Suzhou factory. Gypsies is hull #167 and has nearly 100 custom features selected by Gordon and Sandi Moskowitz, the former owners and is upgraded to what is called a Special Edition. This special edition includes a new anchor arrangement now offered on other models. Other features are oversized stainless handrail package, improved flybridge seating, custom Bosch washer/dryer arrangement, Cantalupi lighting package, enhanced electrical and wiring run design and more. She was delivered to the US in July 2002 and commissioned at a small marina called Bahia Bleu in Thunderbolt, GA.
Gypsies in the Palace is powered by two John Deere 225 HP 6068T diesel powered engines and has a Westerbeke 12.5 kilowatt generator. She has Naiad stabilizers, a Wesmar bow thruster and a Maxwell anchor winch. We upgraded the electronics package when we purchased her putting in three E120 Raymarine chartplotters, two in the pilothouse and one on the flybridge, a high definition 48" Raymarine radar array and AIS receiver. We added a Spectra Newport 400 watermaker and replaced the Xantrex Freedom 25 inverter with two Magnum Energy MS-2812 inverters.
